Makoko Demolition, Lagos, Nigeria 2012

 

The dayS after Lagos state government ordered the demolition of an over 100-year old historic fishing village on lagos lagoon. The village is home to an estimated 85,000 residents who were given 72 hours to vacate to make room for redevelopment on what is now being considered prime real estate. Residents had no choice but to pack all their beloingings into boats.
